From guest count to venue layout, the key factors that determine how many officers you need and what they should do.
Start with the basics
The right security plan starts with understanding the event: the type of event, the venue, the expected number of guests, the schedule, and any specific concerns. A wedding with 100 guests at a private venue has very different needs from a concert with 500 attendees at an outdoor location.
How many officers do you need?
The number of officers depends on the guest count, venue size, and the nature of the event. For most private events with fewer than 200 guests, one or two officers are sufficient. Larger events or venues with multiple access points may require more.
We will discuss your event and recommend the right number of officers. We will also help you decide whether armed or unarmed coverage is appropriate.
What officers do at an event
Officers typically handle guest check-in and access control, monitor parking and perimeter areas, respond to disturbances, and coordinate with venue staff and event planners. The goal is a professional, discreet presence that keeps the event safe without making guests uncomfortable.
